There's Silence on the Hills

Somehow the Silent Hill 5 Trailer completely passed me by, showing how far my finger is from the pulse of survival horror.

Looks pretty good to me. Graphically, it's maybe a little too clean, unless there's the option to add the artificial grain to the picture in-game. Also there's defintely been an attempt to tie in the look of the film into this game, with Alessa looking more like Jodelle Ferland's than the vaguely anime girl on the first game. I also note that the bathroom scene from the film is recreated almost exactly in that trailer albeit with a nurse rather than the contorted Janitor.
This means it's likely that the game will go one of two ways. Either it's going to be a dumbed down version of the universe, made to appeal to fans of the film and Nu-Gen console newbies, or it may simply be a prettier and hi-graphics version of the traditional Hill fare.
Of course this is still some way off, a Summer or Autumn release is likely. But it's coming off the back of the already high pedigree, With Silent Hill 2 still classed by many as the most psychologically deep and profound games ever made; as well as being one of the most disturbing and horrific.

There is also just out, a PSP incarnation, which I sadly had to pass up reviewing as I don't have one yet. (If it ain't found a reviewer yet I may just buy one to play it) Check out the trailer.

There's also a new Graphic novel out, to round out my collection. Good stuff. Hopefully it'll fill out some of the gaps and make a little sense of the story in the last 4 Trades.
