doom doom doom

I was about to spaz over this article but before I got to reading it I noticed the header says "Relax, it died 300 million years ago" and I feel much better. Because the very idea of giant spiders is enough to give me nightmares for the REST OF MY LIFE.

I've been keeping up with the Peter Tobin stories, about digging up girls in that house and stuff. I was really surprised to see Dinah McNicol's face on there; does anyone remember Soul Asylum's song Runaway Train? The one that's rather famous for the video shown in various countries with pictures of missing kids throughout (tailored to several countries, obviously we only saw the UK version with missing British kids) and number to call and whatnot? Dinah McNicol was one of those pictures, I remember looking at it when I was twelve or so and thinking what striking blue eyes she has, how she's quite pretty. They played that video only every other minute on MTV at the time, so I saw it quite often. I saw her picture last week and placed her face immediately, kind of surprised she was still missing. For some reason I assumed there might have been a happy ending there for at least some of those kids (I was young, ok?).

Now, in 2007, we're finding her remains.

That just makes me sad.

And dear lord, the poor people living in that house! I really don't blame them for not wanting to return.

news, linkies
