It was in the middle of dinner one night when the doorbell rang. Irritated due to starvation, Mrs. Garrett walked over to the door, wanting nothing more than to just sit down and enjoy her meal. She opened the door to reveal a rather upset looking Monica Warner who just barged right in without even a smile to thank Mrs. Garrett for opening the door. "Mrs. Warner," Mrs. Garrett said in her welcoming voice, "what a pleasant surprise. Please, take a seat."
"I'm sorry to interrupt," Monica said in a voice that told everybody she wasn't sorry at all, "but I came down here as soon as I could." Monica eyed Blair who was sitting a little too close to Jo for her taste, "Blair, get your things" she ordered.
"What?" Blair got up.
"You're not living here anymore," Monica said sternly, "get what you would need for tonight, and we'll get the rest of your things later."
Blair sat on the bed in her bedroom at the Gamma Gamme house. Blair couldn't believe her mother had Boots St. Clair, of all people, take on the role of her chaperone. From what Monica said, Boots offered, and, not only did she not accept money for it being as Blair would automatically be elected due to her being a legacy anyway, she gace Blair one of the suites. Blair rolled her eyes at the thought of Boots making sure Blair was Jo-free. What Boots would really be doing was popping in whenever she felt like it, taking notes on where Blair was, and follow Blair around; basically being as nosy as possible.
Blair hated the Gamma Gamma house. Everything there matched, and was irritatingly perfect. Blair couldn't figure out how, but it even smelled perfect; it was like living in Barbie's mansion. Blair listened for footsteps as she walked over to one of her suitcases. She opened it to see one of Jo's shirts she found laying on Jo's bed when she went to pack for tonight. Blair sat on her bed, and held the shirt up to her face. Closing her eyes, she took in Jo's scent.
Jo lay in bed the next morning. It was Saturday, so she closed her eyes to try and fall asleep, but she couldn't. She was furious at Tootie, but most of all, she was hurt. She would never forget the way Mrs. Warner had looked at her. The way her eyes iced over made Jo's skin crawl. For that minute while Blair was packing, Monica didn't have to speak to Jo, her body language said it all. Jo hadn't felt so low since Margot talked crap to her, her first semester at Eastland.
Jo turned her head to look at Blair's bed. Getting out of hers, she walked over to Blair's bed and ran her eyes over it before listing up the covers to lay down in it. She closed her eyes and let Blair's bed remind her of her lover. She stayed there for as long as she could until she knew it was about time for Monica and the movers to get the rest of Blair's things.
Jo didn't want to be there, so she got ready, and went for a ride on her bike. She stayed out most of the day; taking time to clear her head. She had no idea what she was going to do. Come evening, she went back home to make sure she was able to help for dinner. When she went back in the room to put her helmet away, Blair's side was empty.
