I take for granted believing that amazing artists know how amazing they are. And, in case you didn't know -- "Yo, you are dope!"
It's rough being a real artist doing all the non-creative bits to make it. The publicity, the booking, and all the rest are not cute. But, damn if I don't appreciate & respect someone that puts real work into their career.
Off topic - I appreciate how you are as a person. I've always thought of you as good artist. But what clinched how I viewed you was a point two years ago. It had been awhile since I was involved in the scene and since I was never one of those on stage -- I felt like social pariah. People aren't always nice if you aren't associated with a cool organization or performing group. Of course, two seconds later there you are coming over to me with a wave and the biggest 'what's up sister' hug. I probably looked at you a little funny because I wasn't sure if the wave was for me (and I looked around for sec). For what it's worth, thanks for being a "real" person and real artist. Thank you for treating those that aren't so big as equals --that's what makes you a good soul.
