A singer in a smokey room/ I smell of wine and cheap perfume

“Morning mom.” I said, putting my bag down by the steps and walking into the kitchen. I sat down next to my mom, and she handed me a piece of her toast. I gladly accepted, hoping to hush my growling stomach.

“You excited about school today?” Mom asked, taking a sip of her coffee and looking at me. I sighed and thought about it for a second. Was I really excited? No, not really. But I wasn’t worried or nervous about it, either.

“No,” I said, shaking my head.

“Not nervous, are you?” What was with the twenty questions this morning?

“Nope.” I shook my head again.

“What are you feeling, then?” She asked, looking at me curiously. I sighed, shrugging my shoulders.

“I’m not sure. I’m not excited, but I’m not nervous, either. I’m just… I dunno. Okay.” Just then, my cell started ringing. I took it out of my pocket and answered.

“Jenny, hey. It’s Hanna. You need a ride to school?” Hanna, one of the girls who I had met when we first got here, asked.

“Hey… um, sure. I could use a ride…” I said. Smiling a bit. Maybe today wasn’t going to be so bad after all.

“Awesome. I’m just leaving now, so I should be there in about five minutes.” Hanna said, a car door closing in the background.

“Alright. I’ll see you then.” I said, and I hung up my phone, putting it back in my pocket.

“Who was that?” Mom asked.

“It was Hanna. One of the girls I met when we first got here… she was wondering if I needed a ride.” I said, looking out the window. The rain had slowed to a drizzle.

“She giving you one?” Mom asked a few moments later.

“Yup. She said she’d be here in a few minutes.” I said, looking at my mom, who was taking a sip of her coffee and turning the page of her magazine.

We sat in silence until I saw a red VW Bug pull into the driveway. I gave my mom a kiss and grabbed my backpack, walking out the front door. Hanna smiled and waved at me, and I smiled back. I opened the passenger side door and got into the car.

“Hey Jen…” Hanna said as I closed the door. “Did they send your schedule in the mail?"

YOU'RE WELCOME! lol :D I'm glad you're enjoying it so far Livvie. Of course, you're my biggest fan. You love all my stories. Did you evenr finish reading my Titanic one? I might have to get you to send that to me, because it got deleated off the old computer, so I have to re-type it... and probably edit the hell out of it lol.

Chris has a company "hike" tomorrow... four and a half miles. He has to be there at about seven in the morning. But it should be over by eight, meaning we have the whole weekend together... :D We're going to go see The Other Boleyn Girl tomorrow. And we might look into getting Delilah spayed. Just becuase there's so many health benefits for her if we do it. We won't have to worry about uterine infections or ovarian cancer or anything. It'd just be so much easier on her, and on us, too. Oh, and we're looking into getting her a little sister. I want to name her Jenny, but Chris is just... blegh. I don't know. I think Jenny's a cute name. Of course I could be a total Twilight nerd and name her Bella.
Or Alice.
Or Rosalie.

LOL XD!!

I'm a nerd. I love it!!!

livvie, delilah, stories, chris
