I haven't posted in so long that I had to reset my password.
What brings me to the LJ today? Well, I'm engaged now! And I finished 1.5 years of my masters' program! Only 1.5 years to go...
Lest this post devolve into complaining, like "I've been so sick the last couple of weeks, and I've lost my voice. And I mistakenly wore a wool sweater a few days ago, and ever since I've had a ridiculous rash and been itching..." which is all true. I feel like I've had the plague, and am finally coming out of it. And I'm seeing a dermatologist today, which means hopefully I shall be CURED! And now I can move onto other things.
Mawiage, Mawiage is what bwings us togedda today... Oh Princess Bride, I love thee so! I'm getting married! I'm so, so excited to marry this man. He is incredible and I feel so lucky to know him and that I get to spend the rest of my life with him!
However, what stands in the middle? Is planning a wedding. I had no clue. No clue what I was getting into. The food? The food prices are astronomical. It's ludicrous. I feel like you say the word "wedding" and they automatically add another 0 to the cost. You thought it was $450? Psych! It's actually $4,500!
But even though it's stressful now, I know that the real reason we're doing all this is because we love each other, and we want to make it a beautiful day for us, our family and friends. We're going to find a place, it's going to be amazing, and we're going to be married by the end of the day. Which is the real goal, am I right?
We've been looking for venues, which is an exhaustive search. I've been looking at colors, flowers, photographers, and most recently, what music I would like played (and not played) at the reception. The internet really is a treasure trove of information. Some I agree with, and some not so much, but it has been invaluable.
