T-day and whatnot
thanksgiving was a long day. i'll leave it at that. i worked on friday since i'm saving all my vacay for the baybay, but at least i got to work at home and got a lot done since there was no one to disturb me.
if you didn't know yet, we're expecting a BOY. a little hoff-MAN. there are pics from my ultrasound here: http://kiwilust.wordpress.com/ i don't know anything about little boys, but people have told me about a device called the peepee teepee, which apparently prevents you from getting squirted while changing the diaper. hmmm.
shawn and i recently started volunteering with hospice. we go in and help with paperwork, visit patients, and show visitors around. there are 2 babies there right now. shawn loves holding the babies and playing music for them on his iphone, and he was encouraging me to do the same but i was scared about it being too hard emotionally. buttah was right though- i went in on friday and my maternal instinct took over. i was a little distraught at first and just sat there holding this little 4-week old baby girl, but once i got used to the situation, i was able to rock her and talk to her. she was born with an irreparable heart condition and her parents are hindu and believe in separating themselves from the baby, so she lives in hospice where the nurses take care of her. she's such an angel- she never fusses or cries.
and for some family gossip... my parents just found out that my grandpa was married before he met my grandma!!!! he and my grandma NEVER said anything about it, not even to their son! and now neither of them are here to confront about it- sneaky grandparents!!
