Spring love

We are excepting the pitter pater of little feet very soon. We have been way to long without a dog.
Woofer has been a dog guy for many years. For that matter so have I. All of our lives really. It’s not that I don’t like little dogs, there just not easy to get on the floor with and wrestle around with. Both Woofer and I are not so easy on things that require um, some delicacy to handle. Ok were just plain hard on stuff.
So the idea of getting a Rotwilder or another Lab was talked about. I went down to a no kill shelter to see who needed a home. My only real thing is I need the dog to have short hair. I found two or three good dogs that could use some love.
I kept thinking about Coco. She came to me from under a kitchen table at a friend’s home, hiding out from a very bad owner. My friend could not keep her because she was already over run with 3 kids and an assortment of animals that go with smart curious kids. To this day I am so glad I said to Coco If you willingly get in the car with me you can stay. We had eight good years of love and fun. For an abused dog so came around to love very well. So why not try again with a dog that needs love.
The shelter person was kind of stand offish. She told me there was a charge to getting a dog for the shots and care they receive there. Ok by me, But then she says that my home needs to be inspected and the adoption form needs to be run. Um ok on the form not so much on coming to my home to inspect. When I asked why they needed to come out to my home the woman got kind of snotty and just said that it was procedure. I am not going to let some stranger come over to my home and “inspect” it for no good reason. That just pissed me off. Sorry dogs I will go some were else.
All this time Woofer and I have had a friend that had a litter of Pug’s and the thought of getting one was there. The last time puppies were in my home I was 5. We have all ways gotten older dogs. Woofer is not so hot on the idea of getting a small dog. Further I was thinking about getting two so they could keep each other company. What the hell I reasoned, two small poop piles versus one big one to clean up after. Woofer just looks at me like I am crazy. “There your mess, whatever you want to do” he grumble’s at me.
So on Sunday we went to go look at the pups. Again I tell him that I am not married to the idea, if he still thinks it’s a bad idea then I am good to leave it be. So my big tough mean man did this.

Woofer giggled and laughed. And just said OK, what the hell are we going to call them.? We picked a boy and a girl.
So please give us a hand, if you have a name give a shout. On Saturday we will be a full house again!
