Humane Society of Indianapolis

I just came from applying for a job at the humane society of indianapolis. Unfortunately it's not a no kill shelter though I wish terribly that it was. I don't think they have any positions available but...atleast they have my app now in case something does open up.

After turning in my app I played with some of the cats for a bit. OMG they were soooooo adorable. There was one there that looked just like my cat Bubby. (the big gray one). Same kind of 'milk mouth' and everything! So sweet. They all acted like they were just starved for attention. I wanted to just pick them all up and take them all home. Of course my mom would kill me but I'd have done it in a second if it were up to me. Clive was so sweet and sooo soft. He was just like silk. He's all black with just a tuft of white right on his neck. And Charlie, he was like the watch cat of the group. Serious but sweet once he got used to me. Mr. Handsome Guy (the one who looks like Bubby...how he got the name he has idk) was just meowing and didn't want me to leave him alone. If I paid attention to another cat he meowed at me to get me back over there. Before I left he gave me the saddest look.

The news has said lately that people are giving up their pets because it's "feed the pet or feed the family". I'm sorry I don't buy that. You can get cheap cat food for like $3 and litter costs even less. So that's about $5 a week. That's not going to even come close to feeding a family. At the most it might buy one meal. Over the course of a month that averages maybe $20. Still not going to go very far in feeding a family. I could never get rid of my cats. They are just too important to me. I love them all way too much.

Anyway if any of you need a pet (esp a cat) go to the Humane Society of Indianapolis. They have some really cute kitties and they're running a 2 for 1 special. If it were up to me? I'd take Clive and Mr. Handsome Guy. And then probably Charlie and Kenny hehe.
