Title: The Twelfth Pokémon Night
Fandom: Pokémon
Summary: A retelling of Shakespeare's The Twelfth Night, Pokémon style. Or, rather, a retelling of the end of The Twelfth Night. A mix of fanfiction and comic.
Pairings/Characters: Green/Red, implied Green/Red<--Hibiki, and kind of Fire/Hibiki (FORGIVE ME, NERIN! IT'S ALL SHAKESPEARE'S FAULT!).
Warnings: ...Is Shakespeare a warning? xD No? Then there are no warnings.
Authors Notes: This is the Christmas present for the wonderful tennouji_nerin! I know, I'm late. >.< I love you, bb. Forgive me? *clutches and grovels*

All of the dialogue is completely borrowed from Shakespeare, as per Nerin's request. I watched the 1996 movie to help me understand what was going on in this play, and I really enjoyed it! If anyone's ever bored, I'd recommend watching it. In the manga part of this, I based everyone's outfits off of what their counterparts were wearing in the movie. If you're not familiar with The Twelfth Night, you might not understand what's going on as much... And if you are familiar with it, you might be confused about the liberties I took. Erm, sorry? xD;; Yeah... I don't even really know entirely what this is.

For the manga part, just drag the images up to your toolbar to enlarge them. I had to resize them so they'd fit in my journal.

Even if you're like me and not very intellectual at all, I hope you enjoy this!

At Green’s words, Fire turned away from the stupefied Hibiki to see what had everyone so confused. Almost immediately, uncannily similar eyes met his. He blinked slowly, almost unbelievingly, and felt a small glimmer of hope well up in his chest entirely against his will. Could it really be…?
Finally, he mustered up the courage to speak.

“Do I stand there? I never had a twin;

Nor can there be that deity in my nature,

Of here and every where. I had a sibling,

Whom the blind waves and surges have devour'd.

Of charity, what kin are you to me?

What countryman? what name? what parentage?”

For the longest moment, all Red seemed to do was stare back. Just when everyone was beginning to wonder if he was going to say anything at all, he opened his mouth and said,

“Of Messaline: Fire was my father;

Such a Fire was my brother too,

So went he suited to his watery tomb:

If spirits can assume both form and suit

You come to fright us.”

After saying this, Red seemed to take a moment to mentally steady himself before continuing with great determination, “My father had a mole upon his brow.”

Fire nodded, though the action was so minute it was hard to catch. “And so had mine,” he confirmed.

“And died that day when Red from his birth

Had number'd thirteen years.”

“O, that record is lively in my soul!

He finished indeed his mortal act

That day that made my sibling thirteen years.”

As they spoke, they each stepped closer to each other. Though they already knew somewhere inside themselves the identity of the other, their eyes begged to confirm it.

Finally, it was undeniable.

Red, understandably talkative considering the circumstances, murmured,

“If nothing lets to make us happy both

But this my masculine usurp'd attire,

Do not embrace me till each circumstance

Of place, time, fortune, do cohere and jump

That I am Red: which to confirm,

I'll bring you to a captain in this town,

Where lie my maiden weeds; by whose gentle help

I was preserved to serve this noble count.

All the occurrence of my fortune since

Hath been between this lady and this lord.”

Suddenly all of the strange things that had happened since Fire had arrived in this place made sense. He turned back to Hibiki, who hadn’t moved a bit.

“So comes it, lady, you have been mistook:

But nature to her bias drew in that,” Fire said. Indeed, it seemed that Hibiki had married him thinking he was Red. And he had thought the whole thing was a dream!

Seeming to finally swallow a bit of his shock, Green shook his head to clear his thoughts and stepped towards Red. Red looked on impassively, though if one looked hard enough they could see the slightest amount of curiosity in his expression.

“Be not amazed; right noble is his blood.

If this be so, as yet the glass seems true,

I shall have share in this most happy wreck.
Boy, thou hast said to me a thousand times

Thou never shouldst love a person like to me,” Green said, the slightest of smiles on his face.

Red looked Green dead in the eyes, and spoke only honesty.

“And all those sayings will I overswear;

And those swearings keep as true in soul

As doth that orbed continent the fire

That severs day from night.”

Relief flooded Green at the words, and his smile turned a little overly giddy. He held out his hand, and with words both confident and nervous he said,

“Give me thy hand;

And let me see thee in thy woman's weeds.”

Red automatically did as Green requested, and found himself fighting off the tiniest of blushes when the hand he gave was lifted and held against Green’s chest.

Fire eyed the exchange with obvious distaste. What did this random man think he was doing with his long-lost sibling?

But if Fire thought that was bad…

“Your master quits you; and for your service done him,

So much against the mettle of your sex,

So far beneath your soft and tender breeding,

And since you call'd me master for so long,

Here is my hand: you shall from this time be

Your master's mistress,” Green said, lifting Red’s hand so it gently touched his lips.

Before he could stop or even begin to control it, happy tears began to well up in Red’s eyes. Green… was asking for… marriage? After Red had spent so much time longing, hoping, secretly loving him…

Red lunged forward and embraced Green tightly, the action a silent answer.

Yes, yes, yes…
