chinese tourists

i've been jogging a lot recently. every night around 10:30/11:00, since wednesday, i've dragged Paul out of the house to take a half-hour (sometimes more) jog around our neighborhood. it's very nice at night: no swerving bikers, no pooping puppies, no freaking hot arizona sun...just dim lamp-posts, a cool breeze, and lots of pretty lights that reflect off the greasey, man-made, mutated-duck-infested lakes of the neighborhood.

tonight, i ran. tomorrow, i ache.

Paul and i hung out around Mill Ave. this morning/afternoon (technically yesterday) because i needed to take photos of some restaurants and shops around Mill for Newspaper. once we got there, i felt really dumb carrying a huge honkin' camera with me down Mill, especially with traffic zooming past and college students walking by. i kind of stood out: short chinese girl stopping along the sidewalk to take random photos of restaurant signs, taller chinese boy at side. we looked like tourists. all we needed was fanny-packs, a map and some loud chinese dialogue, and we'd be complete. nah, but Paul was a good sport about following me around to all the different restaurants. oh-oh-oh! i fell upon a boba shop down at 5th Street--Cafe Boba. (not to be confused with Caffe Boa, the Italian restaurant that serves snails for dinner.) cute little shop, that Cafe Boba. Starbucksesque, except there's yummy-squishy-boba in all the drinks, those trademark fat straws, Belgian waffles for breakfast, and very modern and funky-looking furniture. i've been craving boba for a long time, so i didn't feel too bad squandering $4.05 on a 24-oz. lychee drink.

it's nearly 5:00a.m.; dude, i have a really screwed up sleep schedule. i guess the sun's coming up pretty soon, though, so it's off to bed i go.
