I love you livejournal, but I wanted to start something new for people to read that wasn't my somewhat private livejournal.
The new blog will consist of my adventures with this summer's field season in North Carolina and Tennessee working with bats. yay! and also adventures for the bike tour that Matt and I will be on after this. bats, adventures, blog, bikes, mattparty
These last couple of days have been good times indeed. I had the last five days off of work. Brittany came up to party from Chicago. Thursday was short shorts no sleeve party. Jay and I went for a long hike today up near Gladwin. We found a Yellow Spotted Salamander, a Broad-winged Hawk that kept yelling at us for being near the nest, and other birds..... no grouse though : / Lots of Monarch caterpillars though. Tomorrow I have my final exam in my birds class. The U.P. trip was a lot of fun. Didn't see as many birds as we hoped but we did see new ones and managed to have quite a collection of deer ticks. We stayed up late multiple nights to try to call in owls. Didn't see any but a few of us got to hear the Barred Owl a few times. It has a pretty intense ( Read more... )
