i hope everyone had a pleasant transition from last year to this one. mine was mostly lovely, spent with family, including sisters and the nephew of awesome. he's still a joy. he'll be 12 in march. *crosses fingers the joyfulness holds a little longer*
oh, you may recall that i skipped christmas breakfast with the family on the grounds 9am is too early for me to be sociable. my sister tells me that when she and my other sister walked in, her 3-year-old granddaughter looked at each of them in turn, then jumped up and said, 'where's aunt mary?' this makes me much likelier to attend next year, lol. if the kids actually miss me when i'm not there, that provides some incentive. they're so flipping cute, i just adore them.
yesterday i got the most marvelous surprise -
nimrod_9 sent me a lovely scarf. it's supersoft and really pretty, a lacy pattern in shades of orange, green, and purple that goes perfectly with the brown corduroy jacket i favor. i'm so grateful, and in fact, i'm almost looking forward to going to work tomorrow so that i can wear it to keep me warm in my cold, cold office. :D
xoxo
