I went through the same "super tsunami" stuff that you are going through now. I've been using NuvaRing, and that is doing the job, but it took almost two years to find it. If the NuvaRing had failed, the next step would have been endometrial ablation.

I don't much like the idea of something being left up there for three weeks :P But once you get past that, it's not so bad. I don't feel it at all, and the "traffic accident" periods have stopped. As a matter of fact, I haven't had one of those in probably a year. I had them so bad I had to wear a tampon and a pad and change both about every two hours., and I had random periods. Sometimes I went for an entire month. I still have a mattress pad that I fold into quarters to sleep on during that time of the month, out of habit. People just don't understand how those really heavy, out of control periods can make you feel.
