Trying to find a little joy in the mundane

Had to pick up Alex today from Roanoke; this is always a long, long journey. Today, however, I decided to concentrate on what might be good about it rather than the standard automotive annoyances. Maybe one of these days--if time isn't an issue, and Alex wouldn't care or he's not with you--you could try the more relaxing and scenic U.S. 11 route (at least as far south as Natural Bridge, where 11 blends into I-81 for awhile). Or if time definitely isn't an issue, you could hop on the Skyline Drive at Front Royal, following that all the way to the Parkway and on to Roanoke. :)
