(no subject)
Last night's tuina class was....emotional. To say the least. We learned a technique to release the trap muscle (i.e. the large muscle that covers your shoulders, should\er blades, and most of your ribs). It's a really awesome, trust-building technique, and by a weird turn of events I ended up working with my friend Rich instead of Tim. It was pretty cool because the stretch we did before the release got a really good response (especially from Rich apparently, because Stephe looked over and was like, "You enjoying yourself over there?"...that made me feel good because it meant I was doing something correctly). Then Rich practiced the stretch on me, and Stephe taught us the trap release. He warned us that if we had more stress in our lives that it would hurt more, but I thought he meant on a physical level. Now Rich didn't want to hurt me, so he probably pulled up on my muscle a lot more gently than everyone else (everyone else had bruises afterwards, I did not). It didn't hurt physically, but emotionally a floodgate opened, and I started sobbing. Not soft, small tears, but gut-wrenching, body-shaking crying. Rich worked on me until I calmed down, just rubbing my back and asking if there was anything he could do. I felt better towards the end of class; Justine was really sweet about taking care of me, and Tim held me for awhile and drove us home. He then went back to work, locking his door as he went in his apartment. Now, I planned to say goodnight to him then, so I tried to follow him into his apartment. He didn't realize I was following him so closely, and had locked the door behind him like he automatically does. I thought he didn't want to deal with me because I had been crying, so I stormed upstairs and started crying more. Liz, being a complete sweetheart, made me a cup of tea and calmed me down. Ethan came over to talk to me, and that helped a lot too. Tim came upstairs about an hour later, not realizing what he had innocently done felt to me calculated and cold. So that was silly on my part. Whatever.
Good day at work, and I have plenty of food to take home with me since I ate at my mom's house tonight. Tomorrow my coworker's coming over to eat dinner, and then we're going to one of our customer's concerts at the Space. It should be fun. Either way, I'll hang out with Tina and have a good time
