Overview
A psychological battle between Fujiwara Tatsuya, who plays a man who can control others with his eyes, and Yamada Takayuki, who is immune to Fujiwara’s powers. When Fujiwara discovers that there is someone immune to his powers, he flips out and starts trying to kill the guy. He makes the mistake of threatening Yamada’s friends which prompts Yamada to fight back pretty hard.
Closer Look
Monsterz is about the dark side of humanity and is also just visually dark. There are some pretty creepy scenes where Fujiwara is manipulating dozens of people at once and they all move in sync, or like zombies. It’s pretty violent but not in a gory way, it’s more about the psychological aspects.
Bottom Line
Dark and surreal, the fight between these two super-human men is an intense watch. And Ishihara Satomi plays the heroine, always a plus.
