Sprout
★ ★ ☆ ☆
Overview
I think I’m getting too old for high school love stories. Too much drama. It’s kind of ridiculous hoe they get all worked up over nothing and let it ruin everything. That being said, Sprout does have some touching scenes and there’s a good laugh to be had at the occasional antics of Tanaka Juri and Yasui Kentaro. It’s always fun to see the juniors acting seriously.
Closer Look
The lighting in this drama is really pretty. Despite it being a summer drama the lighting is all really soft and lends to the “innocent love” feeling. I also love the house they live in, admiring the architecture is a nice break from the story sometimes.
Bottom Line
Johnny’s high school romance. Not much more needs to be said. There’s nothing particularly new or innovative or even exciting about this drama but it’s not terrible either.
