Overview
Sometimes funny, sometimes sad, Saikou no Rikon follows two couples through their complicated and drawn out divorces. It’s about finding love and happiness and what that really means sometimes in ways that are so heat wrenching that it makes you want to curl up and cry. But the sadness is balanced well with touching scenes and quirky characters that will keep you laughing and coming back for more. Eita is amazing as always and rightly deserves the best actor award he got for this role.

[Spoiler (click to open)]Honestly the special kind of killed it for me. A little too whiny, a little too dramatic, a little too long, and it ruins the drama’s happy ending. If you want a dose of reality, watch it, but if you like the ending of the drama you won’t be missing anything if you don’t.

The theme song by Kuwata Keisuke sets the tone for the drama and it’s fun to watch the endings which are always a little different depending on what’s happening in the story.
Bottom Line
Definitely worth watching. This drama will make you think about what it means to be married through a well told story and some marvelous acting. Might want to skip the special though.
