"What do they eat, when they can't get hobbit?"

Hi all! Been absent for a while and .. well, a whole lot and nothing at all seems to be going on, or at least it feels like that. One minute I’m busy and overwhelmed, the next... there’s nothing and I find myself going buggy when there’s nothing.

Anyway, went to the Knitter’s Frolic a couple weeks ago and made a killing! :D I saved up all of my birthday money for this event and afterward, I had $4 left. But I got some great yarn and I have projects in mind for 90% of it! Including some laceweight yarn for a shawl. Yes, a shawl. I haven’t attempted one yet but I really like the pattern I got in one of the books Ray got me. So I’ll give it a try.

Then the next weekend, we went to Stitch in Grimsby, we being masalter and kcountess and we met up with a couple other people from knit night and then wenchfaery showed up from her weekend in Kitchener, just for the event! So it was a great day! We hit Starbucks on the way up and it was great! 20% off yarn, I got some malabrigo sock yarn in ‘impressionist sky’ and I plan on making ‘Viper Pilot’ socks out of them (BSG nerd, I know) and some pretty rowan felted tweed in a very light lavender colour for mittens. :) Had a ginormous headache after I got home though... but it was okay, I napped and I worked on a special project for ‘Mardi Bras’!!!! A fundraiser for breast cancer headed by buddygirl10!! This year I’m going because it’s our friend’s 5th year of surviving breast cancer and I couldn’t be happier to be participating. I’m knitting this really pretty bra... with Debbie Bliss Cashmerino yarn ;) Very very soft and that’s about all I’m saying because I need to finish it before I send it off and I want it to be awesome.

So, this is a busy week as well. Ray and I went to see Wolverine on Sunday and it was AWESOME! And we found out that at the end of the credits, there’s a little scene... but there’s two different ones!!! A friend of Ray’s told him about it and we’re like ‘damn, that’s the better ending’ lol. But, if you want to see something actiony without being way too fake, this is great. And it has Gambit in it so, it’s all win!

Plus...not only that.... but we have tickets to see STAR TREK! On THURSDAY night!! Yays! I can’t wait. Though there is a snag.... Ray forgot that he was working that night and he has to switch his shift. So, if he can’t go, I’ll most likely be taking either my Dad or my Brother. Either that or we’ll just give the tickets to them and Ray and I will go Saturday or something. But still, Star Trek this weekend fo sho!!

Checked out the guest list for the Sci-Fi con in August too!!! Some pretty good people, lots of Star Trek stars from the different series’, Linda Hamilton from Terminator, Mary McDonnell from BSG and Donnie Darko (dude!), Ando from Heroes!!!! Lots of cool people, but no one yet that I’d need ‘stalker’ status to meet. However, they have a mystery guest that’s going to be announced on May 14th so.... fingers crossed that it’s someone I ‘can’t miss’!!!

Other than that, everyone I know is feeling ill in some way, shape or form and I’m just wondering when it’s going to hit me as well. Notice I didn’t say ‘if’... it’s just a matter of time. Still, it’s times like this I wish I was a doctor or something... there’s nothing I can do for my friends and family except sit there, or stay away, depending on how contagious anything is. I feel useless pretty much 80% of the time lately... and I’m not much better when I’m alone either. I get lazy and I don’t do much housework (eep!dishes). I guess all I can do, is do what I’m already doing and help in whatever way I can. And speaking of.... You all have to go and check out EnjoyIt! at amazon right now! slashfairy has mountains of great stuff to buy at great prices!!! Help her out with her trip to Europe and buy a book, or a DVD... she’s got lots to choose from in all sorts of categories!!!

Oh well.... and of course, there’s hockey. Ovechkin last night... dude’s got mad skillz yo! Hatrick at home in a playoff game! Crosby got a hatrick too but, it wasn’t at home so all the hype was on Alex. It was wicked to see. And I know my Flames are out (frickin blackhawks)... so I always tend to root for a Canadian team if there is one so... GO CANUCKS! Failing that, lol, GO BRUINS!
