What were your favorite books as a child, and why?
i loved the ramona quimby series by beverly cleary. i read and reread them and read them again.
i had a collection of like, over 300 archie comic books which i started around age seven and only gave up around thirteen or so. i still have them in a big rubbermaid box in my parents crawlspace! (good fodder for roadtrips to spokane and happy memories of pringle and i spending silent afternoons just reading archies in my room :)
the moomintroll books by tove jansson featured pretty heavily in early childhood and i still adore them today (and appreciate the many textured morals and messages, and the overall humanity of the characters as an adult much more clearly... i love muumins!)
when i was thirteen i discovered michael crichton. jurassic park was first. oh man i was obsessed after i read that book. i had dinosaur posters on my wall (contending for space among the st:tng posters. not a typical 13 year old girl was i :P) and knew like, hundreds of dinosaur names. i read all his other books around that same time.
oh man there were many, but those are the ones that come immediately to mind!
