The first thing Alphonse did upon entering his room was plop his suitcase in the middle of the floor and fall right into his bed. It had been an eventful weekend and equally exhausting ride back to Fandom, but hey, he made it.

Joxer enters Al's room without even a knock. He stops dead, however, when he realizes it's not his room.

"Oops, sorry. Guess I got a little disoriented."

"Mm?" Alphonse lifted his head up from the pillow. "Oh, hi Joxer," he said and stood up beside the bed. "Don't worry, it's not a problem. You're welcome if you want."

"You sure?" Joxer pointed down at his bare feet. "I might be in violation of the dress code."

Alphonse looked slightly puzzled. "There's a dress code here?"

[joxertehmighty]

"No, I just don't have boots," Joxer said. "Didn't know if you minded or not."

"Ah, well in that case, it's no big deal," he answered, pointing at his own socked feet. "I walk around barefoot all the time. Don't mind the slight mess, I just arrived from my trip and haven't done much unpacking yet."

"Trip?" Joxer sat down in a convenient spot. "Where'd you go?"

"Visited home for the weekend," Alphonse replied, offering a pillow to Joxer if he wanted to get comfortable. "My friend Winry and I went into the city and stayed with some family friends."

Joxer took the pillow and made himself comfortable. "Well, the weekend was... odd, here. Apparently some people went off and fought mummies yesterday. Why they didn't ask help from a bonafide warrior hero, I don't know."

"There were mummies?" Alphonse's eyebrows shot up at that. "What did they do, just decide to invade by the masses again?"

"Something out in the woods or something," Joxer said. "Don't ask me, I wasn't part of it. I was busy elsewhere all of yesterday."

"Figures something wierd like that happens when I'm gone," Alphonse shook his head and placed the suitcase on his bed, clicking it open. "I think I'm glad I missed out on that one. I think I've had enough of monsters. Do you mind if I started putting things away?"

"Just tell me if I'm in the way," Joxer said. "See, I was busy what with detention during the day, and then spending time with Kaylee at night." He grinned after saying that last bit.

Detention, eep. Neither one of his sessions there ended good at all; Alphonse ended up feeling bad that he had to experience one of those too. "Kaylee's a nice girl," he commented.

"Yeah, she is," Joxer said, his grin widening. "But I don't want to bore you with me talking about her. Tell me more about you and Winry."

"She's been a friend of mine and my brother's since we were about..." Alphonse trailed off, thinking hard on this. "I'm not sure, since we were even toddlers I think? I know our parents all knew eachother, too. But anyway, I was staying with her before I came here."
