Making it through
Dan made a great point. I expect sammy to be "normal" so when the autism is in my face it makes me sad. But for sam autism is his "normal" and that needs to be ok. I have to stop trying to fix him and just start accepting him. It's hard. he was supposed to be my normal one LOL. way too much pressure. He is normal, normal for sammy whatever that means. I will look at him now differently. Autism is his normal and then I can be greatful for the moments of lucidity that are few and far between.
