- On this day in history, Achsah (Alse) Young was the first person on record to be executed for being a witch. Once again, not the finest moment in the history of Christians, who used scripture to justify these executions. We're so afraid of what we can't understand, and we're sometimes so quick to use God's Word to get rid of those who are different - virtually ignoring everything that Christ said. - According to gullible.com, the new pope - Benedict XVI, said in a recent interview "that his favorite food is pepperoni pizza, but admits that he doesn't like to eat the crusts". Now there's one thing we can definitely agree on!
- I have a feeling that gullible.com could report that more Tigers fans are on Prozac then any other baseball fans (even the cubbies!). Why haven't I found a new team, yet?
- My quest for 4-wall Paddleball greatness continues. One day.. I WILL go pro. But for now, I have to find a way to score more than 10 points. Here are the results of the last 3 games I played against my paddleball 'jedi master' - 5-21, 7-21, 0-21 (that one REALLY hurt). Okay. I've got quite a ways to go. But for two months of playing, I can actually feel like I'm making progress.
- Terry Foster continues to win my respect. He's a great sportswriter out of the D and has some great insights into everything he covers. His show w/ Mike Valenti on 1270 WXYT is hands down the best (sports) talk radio in the area. Check out his blog. His last entry (May 27) is a personal one and one of His best
- In one of the most anticipated series debuts in tv history, fans of Flock of Seagulls, Vanilla Ice, Sophie B. Hawkins, and yes... even WANG CHUNG (!!) get a chance to see them struggle for one last shot at musical greatness, on 'Hit Me Baby One More Time'. No, I'm not joking - this show is for real. And all sarcasm aside, this could be a sleeper hit. I'll watch! Premiers Thursday, June 2.
