khryseos and his Bonnie Pirate Laddie came to KC for the weekend, and we had a blast.
Saturday, we went out to the Renaissance Festival to celebrate the BPL's birthday, and we had a good time despite the rain. After, we did a costume change into modern clothes and went to dinner at my dad's. And it was great. After that,
khryseos and I went out to catch the last set of Lonesome Hank and the Heartaches at the Ameristar Casino. It's been too long since I'd seen the band, and we had a bit to catch up on. Sadly, T the drummer is no longer with them (he needed his weekends free to spend time with his son), but I think I have a way to get in touch with him again, which would be great.
Sunday was a wonderful day -- the three of us had a lovely breakfast together, and later met
starwyse for lunch. There was a brief comedy of errors, but it ended with eating sushi at Matsu (a new experience for the boys), cruising the Westport Art Fair, browsing at Aquarius, having ice cream from Murray's while listening to blues, trying on fabulous hats, and generally basking in love and sunshine.
khryseos and the BPL are en route back to Nebraska. I will only be visiting them one more time.
After that, I'll be moving up there.
