Every now and then, I'll be reminded of what a remarkable resource the internet is - no longer will I be stuck recalling and trying to describe things I've seen. I can easily look them up online now. And more often than not, they'll be there.
So, it's in this spirit, that I share this music video with you.
7000 Caffe' - Alex Britti
Is it just me, or is this a truly awesome way of promoting a song - by not actually really 'playing' the song at all. Thoughts please - because I can't imagine any musician saying "Yup, go right ahead. Make a video clip for my new single, just be sure to filter the song through the sound of a vacuum cleaner. Oh, and get random people to sing it as well. I don't feel like hearing my voice on MTV."
Then, in thinking about Sanremo (Alex Britti came 2nd in the 2003 Sanremo), I remembered a song I heard once watching Sanremo on SBS. It took a quick spot of googling, but eventually I worked out that the song is
Era Bellissimo by DJ Francesco. Nobody is seeding the torrent at the moment, so I can't listen and remind myself if it is or isn't as good as I remember.
Back to youtube for a quick hunt to see if Le Vibrazioni have released a video yet for Se. Which they have. And I admit to being kind of disappointed with the clip. Not just because each and every member of the band now sports god-awful facial hair.
See for yourself. Then compare it with how they look at the end of
this.
So, uni started again this evening. I'm very excited. I was all afired-up with ideas for the major project. Because I know that it's easier to be motivated and diligent when writing essays if you're utterly obsessed and interested in the topic, I'm going to see if I'd be permitted to do something related to manga. Starting from the idea of
scanlations. That would be good fun. And very interesting.
