(no subject)
So, this was a pretty good weekend.
I got off work Friday morning @ 6am, so I went home, got drasticbarbie & we headed for Gulfport. We got there in time to catch the 9am ferry to Ship Island & stayed out there until 230pm. We went to Fort Massachusetts, but it wasn't much and was also very small. She had a cheeseburger on the island & I had a hot dog. We just sat on the beach for most of the time we were out there. Those hours under the umbrella on the sand were the most relaxing hours of my life. I honestly didn't think about or worry about anything.
Then we checked into our hotel when we made it back to shore and showered. We had to run to Wal-Mart and then had dinner at Steve's Marina. OMG FANTASTIC!!!!! Such good food! We had seafood nachos for an appetizer. I had the stuffed & deep-fried softshell crab over pasta with cream sauce. Drasticbarbie had blackened grouper with a red pepper cream sauce over pasta. Both were just absolutely amazing. Then we had creme brulee for dessert. We sat on the deck and watched the water & enjoyed the salt air.
We went back to the hotel & went down to the beach. Drasticbarbie collected shells while I sat & read my book. I dozed off on the beach for a bit because I had been awake for nearly 28 hours at that point, but drasticbarbie was right next to me so it was alright. She went in the pool for a bit while I just laid on one of the chairs. I was too tired to even contemplate getting in the pool. Then we went upstairs and rinsed off before going to bed. I ended up being awake for 30 hours.
Next morning we got up @ 730am & went downstairs for breakfast. Then we went to the beach where she got more shells (one of them covered in oil ;_;) and I read more of my book & also just watched the water. We went back upstairs, checked out, then headed to the outlet center. Mandy wasn't feeling well, so we hurried through that before heading down the road for lunch at Koi Sushi. They had some really good food. We gassed up & headed back to LA. *sad face*
I had a really good time and next time we're going to Pensacola Beach & for longer. ^_^ We're also gonna plan our next trip more than just a few days ahead of time...
