Gen Ex Freeform Exchange
Dear Creator,
Thank you for writing for me! I hope you find something in here that tickles your fancy, but don’t worry too much-I like a lot of things, I just hope that everything here gives you ideas but if you have a thing that you were already thinking of, I’ll probably like it anyway assuming it doesn’t contravene one of my DNWs. As always, if there’s something confusing, you can reach out to the mod to ask me because chances are, I just didn’t think of something or didn’t edit something properly.

General Likes:
General Dislikes:
In general, unless otherwise requested, I don't take well to crack fic, soapbox fic/issuefic, amnesia fic, body swaps, cringe comedy, and plots based on miscommunication or jealousy. If there is hurt, I would like comfort, or I often just can't get through it-same goes for angst (unless explicitly requested, of course!). That said, these are general dislikes-they're not DNWs, I have liked fics with all these themes, and I have sometimes requested these things. If you have an idea that you’re worried might come close to one of these, don’t worry and go for it.

Dublin Murder Squad
God, how do I love this series. I love how unreliable each of the narrators are in their own way, I love the dynamics between the detectives, I love how each story packs a punch and they’re really quite literary. Obviously, a lot of these freeforms speak for themselves, but a few more explicit prompt:
Harry Potter
I have spilled much ink on Harry Potter, which can be found under the exchange letters tag on my journal, though my Heart Attack Letter is still probably one of the best places where it’s all collected. In any case, keeping the prompts simple since there are a plethora of freeforms, here are a few prompts of things I’d love to see:
Tortall
I split my Tortall requests into two since they come in two very different flavours. I love Mundane AUs for this fandom, and I really, really love watching Alanna and Kel their friends generally being silly! Most of these freeforms are self-explanatory, but basically: I would love scenes of these characters cooking, playing video games, doing sports, competing in sports, on a reality show doing pretty much anything, doing dumb things in college while eating pizza, and generally being friends and having hijinks.
One note about the Heist and AU - Persona Fusion, I’m definitely still looking for something fairly light with violence in a more comedic way than a serious one for this request.
In terms of non-Mundane AUs, I also have many prompts scattered across previous letters, but to rehash a few ideas:
New Amsterdam
For this fandom, I mostly want all that ride-or-die friendship feels. The freeforms mostly speak for themselves, but basically I’d love scenes in the hospital that really hit on their friendships and supporting each other! I also figure that if anywhere was to be hit first in the zombie apocalypse, it will be the hospital, so that’s definitely an option-or, for a less serious, more fun, version of that, they could be setting up zombie protocols for fun over drinks at the bar. The more pop culture zombie references, the better!
We Are Lady Parts
I think the freeforms I picked here are mostly self-explanatory, but definitely am looking for more canon-typical shenanigans with loads of friendship feels! I’d love to see the band go on tour or on another road trip, and just watching the fun as it happens. For more serious fic, definitely down for some character or relationship studies too.

General
General Likes:
- Fics that are character-focused, character-driven, and deal with character exploration or character development. Show me aspects of a character I never considered before, or explorations of how a character's upbringing influences their worldview! I also especially love minority characters, particularly BIPOC characters!
- Fics as challenge, whether it be a challenge on canon, on fanon, on fandom, or a comment on our own reality!
- A focus on relationships, particularly how a character interacts with the world around them, and other characters based on their upbringing and worldview.
- Thematically, I love when characters are put in a tough spot, moral ambiguity, and themes around honour, duty, and responsibility.
- All flavours of AU. Canon-divergence, Modern AUs, Mundane AUs, crossovers, etc, especially if it interacts with one of the above. I especially like Rule 63 AUs because of the potential for exploring gender and how it impacts and socializes characters.
- Worldbuilding, especially through in-universe documents (please consider this an opt-in to pretty much whatever in-universe document or weird in-universe storytelling device you can dream up).
- Alongside the worldbuilding, I really like accuracy and real-life details. I’ve fucking adored fic that involve a deep understanding of 9/11, I’ve written fic where R2P is a big deal, I suspect I’m known for my legal shit, and so-if you have specialized knowledge of something, I love seeing it!
- Romance of all varieties: fluff, happy endings, drunken confessions, friends-to-lovers, enemies-to-lovers, fake dating, fake marriage, arranged marriages, established relationships, slow-burn, shovel talk, and pining (mutual or otherwise). In general, I prefer M/F pairings, but I don’t mind M/M or F/F pairings and prefer them if canon.
- Smut-wise, I love first times, gentle sex, rough sex, possessive themes, mild BDSM (e.g. bondage, spanking with a hand), D/s with femsub, impregnation and pregnancy.

- Character bashing. In general, I like to imagine that all characters are like people-they're complex, and they have an array of good points and bad points.
- Harm or death to pregnant women, children or small animals (background mentions or past references is fine, as are things like statistics-I just don’t want to be dragged through it in detail, like please don’t make this a central point of the fic).
- Except otherwise indicated, non-canonical major character death, graphic violence and torture (graphic being “more than what is in canon”), non-con or dub-con, PWP or large age differences (>15)
- Adultery or infidelity (specifically, this is mostly about the betrayal--if you have a plot where two people are married for convenience and happen to have other relationships, that wouldn't trigger as long as everyone knows and doesn't care)
- Smut-wise, unless it’s indicated above in my likes, I’m likely not going to appreciate anything kinky. To be more specific, I DNW A/B/O, age play, humiliation, bloodplay, cannibalism or vore, watersports, scat, mpreg, snuff, or underage (<15).

- I’d love some case fic with supernatural or horror elements! A Persona Fusion here would be really fun (with either them trying to catch the main characters of Persona, or having Personas), or really any of the detectives running up against the supernatural or cosmic horror in any way.
- I generally love some character and relationship studies! I’d say my favourite characters to examine here are Frank, for all that intergenerational trauma and exploration of wealth and class differences, plus the fact that he went and joined the coppers when it’s quite likely half his family is on the other side, or Antoinette for being a woman in the Murder Squad and the wealth and class differences. What happens with Antoinette after The Trespasser?
- Undercover at a formal event! I just think this would be really fun-I imagine Frank and Antoinette really hating being formal, while Cassie and Stephen are very good at it, and lots of complaining about why they have to do this.

- I’d love an AU where Harry was taken by social services when he was young and raised by a different family! There’s so much to dig into here. What exactly happened for him to be taken away? Did one of his teachers at school do their job and make a mandatory report? Were the Dursleys publicly shamed? Where does Harry go after he’s taken by social services-a new wizarding family? What about his relationships with his adoptive siblings? Maybe the Weasleys, but what if he was taken in by the Diggorys? Does that Harry want to be just like his super cool older brother Cedric and go into Hufflepuff?
- Throw on an AU where Dudley has magic too, and Harry meets Dudley again at Hogwarts! What are their awkward conversations-what do they even remember about what happened when Harry was taken by social services? How do they figure out moving forward?
- I really, really love Rule 63 for Harry Potter because the main series is rife with so many unintended Gender Issues. I really love reading character studies of somewhat unconventional characters being genderswapped-Draco is a perennial favourite here, but I’d love to see Percy or Ron genderswapped, or Tom Riddle! I love seeing what changes and what stays the same about their characters.

- I love character studies and would love to see one of Thom of Trebond or Alex of Tirragen. I don’t think either of their reasonings for following Duke Roger are adequately explored (to differing degrees-Thom better than Alex), and I’d love to see why. I feel like Alex is smart enough that he knew exactly what he was doing. A fix-it for the end of SotL where neither Thom nor Alex die would be great too!
- I’d love to see Kel and Wyldon’s relationship evolve post-canon, whether it is immediate post-canon or far future post-canon when Kel leading the King’s Own or the army or something!
- What if Duke Roger won, but Jonathan survived and the country has been torn apart by civil war for the last generation? Jonathan, being the Voice of the Tribes, naturally falls back to the Great Southern Desert, and I imagine that Alanna and Raoul, at least, go with him as adoptees of the Tribes themselves. I’d love a picture of what happens here, from keeping alive the traditions of their culture as they remember it, to missions up north, to… just about anything, really. All the partisan resistance, ride-or-die loyalty themes!
