i'm not trying to be rude, or mean, or lacking in any moral or political high groung here
but (and you've all be waiting for it)
why are all the really sexy goth clothes i know i would wear only made (or in this case, sold) for the 'larger' person (i say person because i'm looking at unisex, however the larger items tend to be for the women).
now, i know there are women (and men) out there who will fit into a size 16+, i'm friends with a lot of them, and my mother is a 'plus sized' woman (not that you would figure by looking at my waif like physique), and i'm not bothered by that, but i am bothered by manufactureres and sellers who either DO NOT or WILL NOT stock or even bother HUNTING OUT THE POSSIBILITY of the item in my size. yes, yes, i hear you say, "but what about all those larger (well, you're most likely saying fat, because that's probably what i would say in the privacy of my own home at my pc where no one could hear me) who can't find attractive clothing in their size"? my answer: i can feel your pain.
it probably doesn't seem right that someone like me (who is a size 10 (occasionally an 8 or a 12 depending on the desinger)) should make these sorts of comments, but that's not my point. my point is manufacturers/stockists/sellers who DO NOT or REFUSE TO deal with clothing over or under a certain size.
now, i don't go clothes shopping very often, mainly because i'm picky and tend to be very conscious about my petite figure. i know that my figure is not an ideal one (ignoring the fact that the majority of fashion is geared towards us smaller framed girls), but it's the one i've got and i'm dealing with it. in fact, the only way i seem to be able to put ANY weight onto my frame is to bulk up on muscle, which i need to do regularly or else i become invisible again (hence the reason i tend to look so fit). even when i was pregnant, i didn't gain very much. probably 8kg in total, and it was all water retention that became apparent in the final MONTH!
i'm checking out various internetty type places looking for items of clothing i might consider purchasing in order to add some newness to my wardrobe, and most of the items i particularly like are not stocked in a smaller size than 14. i appreciate that they cater for bigger sizes, but i REALLY want that item, and they refuse to cater for me. why? and why can i not find a distributer with the same item in my size?
ugh. there are SO MANY reasons why i hate shopping. not even the internet can make it any easier. dammit!
til next....
~Kits~ (yes, that whole tirade was because i couldn't find the clothes i wanted in the size that fits best. bite me)
