Today at the grocery store I had one of the most uncomfortable encounters of my life. There was this very sweet lady, I would guess probably in her forties, maybe a little older, that was ahead of me in line. I get it. Kind of. Not specifically about religion, but in general. It seems kind of a personal question to ask a stranger.

A lot of my reaction has to do with the level of comfort I have with whoever I'm talking to. I don't like talking about religion or politics/political issues with people unless I know them well enough to know I won't accidentally offend/somehow shock them and vice versa.

In my mind religion and politics/political issues are personal choices, often intensely so for some, and not something I view as being something you talk about lightly or with someone you don't know, or have just met.
