I fail at technology.
My brother and niecelings came over to exchange birthday presents (my birthday and those of my nieces are all in the same week) today, and I got a VCR/DVD player! Up until a few months ago we were using the PS2 for this, but despite my many, many efforts at adjusting the laser and such, it still wouldn't play DVD movies with 100% reliability, which was an giant headache. (It still plays games without a problem, though, so there's some not-awful in there somewhere.)
I was excited at the prospect of being able to watch my DVDs on the television and whatnot, but I can't figure out how to hook the damn thing up. (I'm hoping, hoping, this means we are missing a vital cable or something as the alternative is that I am clearly made of dumb. /o\)
