Ahaha. So when I was a wee little one I remember watching coming home after school and watching
Transformers (among other cartoons) so you know I'm going be all a-glee about the new movie. (In case you missed
earlier posts about the subject.) The thing I love about it though? Hasbro has no shame. (I don't mean that in a bad way, unless you want me to.) In the trailers for the movie you can see
this little girl with her adorable - and no doubt semi-reasonably priced -
My Little Pony toy. I may have actually laughed out loud when I realized what she was holding, because yes.
(Big honkin' images beneath the cut.)
My favorite Transformer was, of course,
Bumblebee. I can't even remember why now, he just was. (Keep in mind that I was around seven at the time I first started watching the cartoon.) And! Of course, since he's a big fan favorite he's in the movie.
Bumblebee has two car forms in the movie, the first of which is a 1974/1976 Chevrolet Camaro (I'm no car expert and sources vary on the exact year.) Later on he takes on the form of a 2008 Camaro - I can only guess that this is part of the genius plan to help Sam woo his girl. GENIUS. PLAN.
I can understand why they chose not to make him a VW Beetle in the movie (it's a cute car, but not sexy awesome like the Camaro I suppose?), although I'm pretty sure people new to Transformers will be a mite bit 'But why is his name Bumblebee?' - you know, aside from the fact that he looks remarkably like a...um...bumblebee. I shine with the words today, yes?
And so now...um. Stuff. Bumblee related stuff, even.
Bumblebee from the comic prequel in his first car form:
In the same issue of the comic they decide to get cute (they do this in the movie too, which okay, cute):
Bumblebee in robot form:
This is a cap of Bumblebee's robot form from one of the movie trailers:
Another (blurry) screencap of Bumblebee's robot form from the same trailer:
So...yes. I'm seriously obsessing about this movie in case you couldn't tell. :D
