No, really.

I'm watching season one of SG-1 again (even though I have other things I should be doing/watching) because I miss old school SG-1 (Janet! ;_;) so, so badly even though I'm kind of fond of its current incarnation, and realized something.

OMG. I could not stop LAUGHING at your recap of season 1 of SG-1. It has been SO LONG since I sat & watched it all in one go once upon a time. While I may have never thought of it in those terms myself, omg are you right!
I can't quite make myself watch SG-1 for more then an ep at a time (any season - except for the lovely cracktastic humor eps like groundhog day or the one w/ the hologram dude in their heads...) I am surprised to note that your summary actually makes me recall the first season with much fondness. ^_^

On another note (because I *never* just STFU) "The Tower" is just awesome... I've listened to it 3 times in a row now. Thank you so much!

I hadn't thought about it like that either, until I started seeing more of the 'SGA is full of retarded people, but we love them anyway' posts and went 'Huh, it's true'. Then when I started watching SG-1 season one again I went 'Wait, these people aren't retarded? How?'

I can't really watch more than a few eps of SG-1 in a row either, with the exception of season three, which is one of my favorite seasons. It's what I like to think of their AWESOME season, because it had that alien bounty hunter Aris Boch (omg, Jack and Daniel are SO Rodney and John in that episode in sheer dorkishness ♥), and Urgo (the hologram dude) was sheer genius in the 'omgwtf?' kind of way that I love so, so much.)

But yeah, the first season/early SG-1 was so much love for me. (Later seasons are kind of hit/miss, although I'm kinding of liking season nine and ten (Mitchell and - especially - Vala are so much love).

That's it! Urgo! I read this excellent Urgo fic somewhere maybe a month ago that reminded me how that had been one of my fav eps.

I absolutly *love* claudia black &... & you know. Crap. Name has escaped me, but Mitchell who played Criton in farscape. I was so thrilled when they made vala a regular - it almost made me watch the show agian.

Urgo fic? Really? That sounds kind of awesome, do you have the link?

Oh, I love those two (Ben Browder, I think? I can never remember if there's an 'R' in his last name or not) so, so much. Claudia Black is just incredibly awesome, and I love, love, love Vala so much because she's just so cool! Mitchell is so dorky and cute and awesome and I love him because he's his own character, not a Jack clone.

I may have squealed with delight at learning Vala was going to be a regular cast member...maybe.

I love watching CB play Vala because Vala is such a *different* character from Aeryn Sun. Aeryn was such an uptight badass & Vala is such a goof. It's undeniably the same person (well, duh - it's the same actor - but there's personality traits that shine through to both characters) Mitchell is a lot closer the the Criton character. I think the essential goofiness is inherent to the man. ^_^ Not that I'm complaining!

The first time I saw a teaser w/ Vala doing something truly goofy I know that i *did* squeal. It's so much fun to watch her.

(Also, I've been a hardcore Daniel fan since the beginning & I think I'm kinda really warming to the Vala/daniel idea... ^_^)

I'll see if I have that Urgo fic. It was Daniel/Jack slash, I know that much.. Do you know if SG1 has a storyfinders group like sga?

I feel a little bad that it's so hard for me to remember his name because I really like him as an actor and as a character.

And yes, that's what I love about Vala too. (CB is just...she's beautiful and amazing as an actor to bring such radically different characters to life the way she does.)

Vala's just a whole world of awesome. I love her and I love the way she interacts with Daniel. (I'm also really kind of fond of the two of them together and seeing the way the character of Daniel has evolved over the course of the show it fills me with delight to think that Vala's such a perfect match for him now. I just...omg, I love the two of them togehter so, so much I get incoherent about it.)

That would be cool!

I think stargate_search is the SG-1 equivalent?

But in the meantime, I've got like 4 different links saved of fics I now want to go & read - all based on the little bits of the stories that people posted to find the fics..

Oh, oh. I get so distracted by that. I see a post with an intersting summary of the story someone's looking for and I'll jsut sit and wait until someone posts the links for the story and...*headdesk*

OMG. You...if you check that link out, tell me about it? (But only the parts that aren't traumatizing, please.) I feel a horrible fascination with it myself.
