Even if it does not qualify as merchandise per se, I think it's comes close enough and is a part of the hobby for me.
German previews; it seems most publishers settled on this small book format. They are released about every 4-6 months, when the publishers announce their new programs.
French previews come in all sizes and shapes, from the leaflet to poster-sized (with a poster on the other side). The releases depend on the editors, some issue a preview every month, every other month or 3-4 times a year, according to their preferences.
Beyond being very informative, I find review magazines, extracts of chapters and the likes to be very collectible. This is only a small amount of previews I keep:
Usually because they're pretty, with a poster, featuring my favorite manga or issued by my fav editor.
I tend to throw away German ones more easily, because the thicker books take up too much space and I need every bit of that for my regular mangas.
My question now is the following: How do the previews in your country look like? If your country's publisher issue them of course (if not, it's also informative to me).
