Ding ding ding!
So, it happened :) Ken and I got engaged. We have been talking about it for a while but one never really knows when it could happen. We also know that i can be the most oblivious person in the world.
The idea behind this vacation was mainly to get away from work as well as to go home for my uncle's 4th of July BBQ. So, we took our time and made our way out there and went to the BBQ. It was awesome. We majorly broke our diets and we're now paying for it, but it was the most delicious vacation we've had. At one point I went back to swimming in the pool and Ken didn't follow. He sat there talking to my dad for a while, as to what they were talking about, I really had no idea. The later on we ventured inside to watch anime on the iPad because we were tired. A while later Ken wants to take a walk but I knew there was no place to go so we end up at the bottom of the driveway. I magically get pulled into his arms and he's telling me that i'm his best friend. All of a sudden he's on one knee, asking me to marry him and attempting to put a ring on my finger. I was floored, I wasn't expecting it to happen so soon. But, I'm glad it did. I love him with all my heart and I can't see myself with with anyone else - I don't want to see myself with anyone else. He understands me, he takes care of me,he makes me laugh - we have a very partner based relationship and we see eye to eye on many important factors.
Apparently, my uncle freaked out when he passed by and saw Ken on one knee. Funniest story ever. Everyone is happy for us though and that makes us happy.
Are we floating on Cloud 9? Yeah, we are but the fun and games ends soon and the planning of events will begin to happen. Not to mention the mega diet we will be going on starting Monday. We kind of blew the progress of our diet out the window the first hint of vacation. I know I've gained some weight back, but I'm not going to freak out about it. I'll accept what I've done to myself and just start over again. I'll lose this newly acquired weight and the rest of the weight I need to get rid of and I'll look amazing on the day of my wedding. And that's a fact :)
Yesterday we went down to the jeweler to find a new band for the diamond. I'm extremely pleased with what we found. So, next week we drop off the ring I currently wear around my neck and come back with something I can wear around my finger. It's amazing to me that they can turn something like that around so fast. The price is also something within our budget and I fell in love with it as well, so that makes the both of us happy as well.
Anywho, off to enjoy what's left of vacation before we have to get back to the real world :)
