The Valentine's Wrap-Up/Coraline/New Recipe

I know it's a little late, but Valentine's does deserve some recognition by me. I must have been a really good girl this year because Valentine's was really good for me. Did I get flowers? No. Did I get chocolates? I kinda sorta wish, but I realize it's better if they weren't here. Am I disappointed by not obtaining either of these two things. No.

The day started out really slowly. We both got to sleep in, then we did our usual thing of going to our computers and starting up WoW. I brought my warrior to 70, and worked on engineering all morning so that way I could make her flying machine. So, now she has that - woo. Then I logged on as my Hunter and Sam and I did the dorkiest thing ever - our characters went on a "date" in Dalaran. Basically there's an achievement to share a "romantic picnic" with someone there, and that's what we did. I have a screenshot of it and it's my wallpaper now. It was kind of really nerdy, but I thought it was amusing.

Then since I had already given Sam his candy and gift, he decided to give me mine. And here's where I'm spoiled - it's the most beautiful necklace I've ever seen. It's a diamond (or flower) shaped cluster of small green sapphires, surrounded by a design of very small diamonds. Now, I know most girls are like pfft, it's small. But to me it's perfect. I'm not a huge jewelry person, but every once in a while it's awesome, and this is by far one of the most awesome things I have that's not chainmail or that I got for dirt cheap.

The best part about it was that he said that since he knew I loved my green sapphire earrings that he had gotten me for our 2nd anniversary, and since I got my ears pierced a 2nd time so that I could wear them all the time - he wanted to get me something that matched :3 Even he was giving props to himself and patting himself on the back for such an amazing fine. He should! I think the other thing about the gift was that it was so girly that it made me feel pretty. I still feel pretty and it's not Valentine's Day anymore.

Ok, so enough about the necklace. We hung around WoW for a bit more of the day but then we decided to hit dinner early since we weren't sure if we'd get into Ted's since apparently they don't take reservations? and I really wanted buffalo for dinner (mmmm). So, we went and had the most delicious meal I've had in a while, and then on the way home it started to snow. We ended the evening by watching more episodes of the office and just hanging out. It was amazing :)

Then Sunday we went to see the new movie Coraline in 3D. It was awesome and so much better than I was expecting. Even Sam enjoyed it and he really had no desire to go. Then we went to dinner with with friends and I stopped by the new office building to show Sam where it was I'm now commuting and then it was on our way home. I ended up tanking that night too, which made me very tired yesterday.

Yesterday was a ghost town at work because it was a bank holiday and the contractors didn't have the day off. I was planning to work at home but someone mentioned that if I did that I'm making a bad impression with my contracting company. So guilt got the better of me and I headed in.

Now that I'm playing the calorie game, I'm trying to figure out what I should cook these days - and I was in the market for a new recipe to make. I had stumbled upon this recipe for Creamy Tomato and Chicken Spaghetti and I was instantly curious. I wasn't sure what they meant by "stir fry vegetables" (like I know what they are, but you can't just got get a package of fresh ones, and Sam and I are picky about our veggies), so I substituted broccoli, carrots, onions and red peppers. I also added seasoning to the chicken and some chopped garlic, and a dash of sherry since everyone seems to think that while delicious it's kind of bland. I was very impressed with my cooking ability to actually improve this recipe yesterday. Sam was impressed too and have given me permission to add this recipe to the bowl of possible dinners :D

And the greatest part about the all recipes website is that it give's the nutrirional information of the meal on the side, and when you print the recipe you can add that in there as well. So, now my calorie counting will be so much easier and I will defeat this monster that is awful health and fat.

Saturday my exercise program is supposed to arrive. Once that gets here I'll have more options to play with when considering my calories because I'll be exercising everyday which is going to burn off a lot more. I'm excited.

Now to get ready for work and hopefully be on time for once.

cooking, vday
