Because my sweet dear sister sakurascorpion just wouldn't get down to write our lovely Jin a pimp post, I decided to do one myself. LOL~ Posted for hyphen_verse community.

History
Jin is the oldest child in his family, consisting his parents and a younger brother named Reio whom he is close to and is also an actor using the stage name Fuuta. His mother, who is 1/4 Italian mix blood, gave birth to Jin when she was just 15 years old. When he was younger, one of his family member once pushed him overboard on a cruise and he nearly drowned. In his first grade, he moved from Chiba to Tokyo. In 1997, before he joined Johnny's, his classmate sent his photo to Myojo and he was featured in the 'Cool Classmate' corner of the idol magazine issue. As of now, I am not sure of his parents' occupation.
In 2005 when 24 Hours TV covered KAT-TUN, Jin wrote a letter telling that KAT-TUN and his family had been a very big support for him. He even thank them personally one by one, which later showed that his parents are very supportive, accepting and nice.
Johnny's Career
Jin wanted to get into Johnny's because when he was in his first year of Junior High, he saw, of all people, OF ALL PEOPLE, Nishikido Ryo dancing in a TV show. (Sorry, I have to stop typing for a while because I'm too busy laughing my ass off, lmao) When Jin voiced his interest in entertainment industry to his mom, she sent the application letter to Johnny's on his behalf.
He actually failed the audition at first, but he got personally accepted back by Johnny Kitagawa himself later. Kitagawa told Jin to stay the very day he failed his audition when Jin went to give his audition number back, not knowing he was handing it to Johnny himself. (Credits to mrs_koki )
Jin joined Johnny's Entertainment on 8th Noverber 1998 at the age of 14 and was assigned in various groups in Johnny's Junior like MAD (Musical Academy Dancing), J2000 and BAD before being drafted into the six-member unit called KAT-TUN in 2001 to do a backdancing for Domoto Koichi's stage performance. This unit was supposed to be a temporary unit but in their first concert tour Okyakusama wa Kami Sama in 2002 Jin said he wants to prove that KAT-TUN is more than just a group of backdancers, which is ironic because he left the group soon after.
He had his first hiatus on October 2006, approximately seven months after KAT-TUN's debut to study English overboard at LA, USA for an indefinite amount of time. On April 2007, he returned and quickly resumed his work with fellow bandmates. Prior to his Bandage movie, he marked his solo debut under the temporary unit called LANDS and released an album with the band on January 2010. In July 2010, Jin announced that he would leave the band KAT-TUN and went on as a solo artist. Later on March 2011, he released his first solo single entitled "Eternal" and currently in the process of filming his first Hollywood movie that will be aired later in 2012.
His Personality
If you are new to KAT-TUN's fandom, you would probably get the image of Jin who is a selfish drunken bastard who sleeps around and loves to have fun. But really, if you take a closer look, Jin is quite fragile, cute and sweet.
He is the type who doesn't like to be alone, and if there is a time when he has to be alone, he said he'll sleep. He said he could sleep 10 hours non-stop. lmao~~ Jin~!!! Be productive~!!! XD
Jin is known to be the man who loves his family and friends a lot. He once said he believed in the love and trust between him and his family and friends. He loves to tease his friends, but in a friendly way, he means no harm. (We all do that to people we're close to anyway) He tends to be in a long lasting friendship even if he fought a lot with his friends, but they always reconcile. According to his bandmate Ueda, Jin is not the type of person who would talk behind people's back even if he's annoyed at that person.
He really likes his cellphone. There’s not a moment when he wouldn't play with it, be it while waiting for the train or at the studio. He likes to call his friends on those times to talk about unimportant things but would promptly hang up and say "hey, I don’t have much time", when his breaks are over. He once even said he feels weird without carrying his cellphone around.
Recently he got himself an official account in several social internet networking such as Twitter, Facebook and even YouTube.
He once said the only people that can get on his car and ever did that were Koki, Nakamaru, Ueda and Yamapi. (This fact is not renewed since 2007 though, I bet the numbers increased) Why he even bother to tell this, I don't even know... *shook head*
Jin is not a morning person, and he always needs to be waken up by someone. It is said that he always late for meetings, but he doesn't like to wait for people either. (And I wonder why he get along well with Ueda)
He is not bothered with details and even if something bad happens, he said he would have already forgotten about it by the next day because he doesn’t like to hold grudges forever. He also said he is the type who would do whatever he wanted to do no matter what other people say. Ueda once said Jin is the 'free' type of person. And he never gives up.
He is surprisingly a very meticulous person. He cannot tolerate undone dishes, or even a tiny dirt left on the plate.
He is not the type who would make surprises for his friends nor his lover.
He was very bad in language that a fan once gave him a Japanese dictionary so that he can improve. When he first wrote the song "Hesitate", the fans’ reactions weren’t about how cool it was that he’s writing a song, but they were puzzling about how come he knows such a difficult word like ‘hesitate’. my poor jinjin...
He is a scaredy cat. In one of their previous shows, he needed to go into a haunted house and soon after he ran out all by himself and left everyone behind. trust me, he's cute... lol~
He is very ticklish at his collarbone.
And more importantly, he really loves kids. He once said he wanted to have six children if he could.

Jin is known to have interest in soccer, though he used to have a dream of becoming a famous pool player when he was a little child. He always plays soccer by his own. However, he said he dislikes soccer competition. He used to wish to have his own soccer team though. If he didn't join Johnny's, he might have end up being a soccer player instead.
During his free time, he loves to hang out with his friends simply for drinking, clubbing and partying. And he loves to travel too.
He also loves food and is said to be always hungry. Oh wow... another glutton... o.O He especially loves pasta, pizza, BBQ, roast meat, toriwase and fish. (And I wonder why he get along well with Ryo, lol) He doesn't like Tokunashi though. But he still consumed them for his stamina.
Jin's interest, life and hobby is his guitar. Music and dancing is basically his soul. It is believed he practiced them a lot too.
His Talents
Jin, to my eyes, was KAT-TUN's best persona ever. He had the ever needed gifts and talents as an idol should have. He is good in dancing, singing, acting, (okay, maybe his acting isn't the best, but well...) composing and lyric writing. He also is good in playing the guitar. He gained 16 Junior awards when he was still a Junior and he won the Best Actor Award for Yukan Club in 2007. but Uepi will always be my ichiban... :P
In 2003, KAT-TUN went with Tackey&Tsubasa to hold Thailand concerts and Jin revealed he was impressed by the audience reactions towards Takki's ero dance and presented the dance during KAT-TUN's 2003 concert tour. However, Jin said he wasn't satisfied with it.
He has a very good vocal control and an amazing vocal range. When he was in KAT-TUN, he was always been given the high note and tricky parts in songs to sing.
Jin is also talented in composing and writing songs. He wrote songs for KAT-TUN and his solos like "Hesitate", "Love or Like", "Love Juice", "Care" and "Wonder". "Wonder" was composed when Jin found Crystal Kay's music producer's demo, and later on he worked on the lyric together with Crystal Kay. The PV of the song was self-produced by Jin himself.
He composed and wrote "Murasaki", "Ha Ha" and "Pinky" himself. He also collaborated with bandmate, Ueda to create the song "Butterfly". At one interview, Ueda revealed that Jin had contributed to KAT-TUN's music and lyric more than he ever took credits to, though neither of them revealed which songs those are. (Actually, this leads me to think that he is a very modest person)
He recently been filming in the Hollywood film "47 Ronin" which also stars Keanu Reeves in the lead role. He will play the role of Oishi Chikara, a friend to Kai who is played by Reeves. The film's director, Carl Erik Rinsch, was apparently impressed by Jin's English abilities and motivation. it looks like he improved in his language, lol~
