It's Sunday...

Sundays used to be my least favourite day after Monday, simply because it comes just before Monday... a dreary day to be spent doing little but anticipating the start of yet another school week. I've grown to like Sundays though. Like today, for instance. Woke up early, sent my mom & Peter to church then went Serangoon Gardens for breakfast at Cafe Cartel with my younger bro before dropping him off at his church. Then I drove back home, took Bodhi out for a walk, trimmed his nails & spent some time just chilling out with him. And having started the day early, I still have plenty of time after this to catch my mom for lunch, go view more apartments and then meet up with Wei in the evening. Just lovely. :)

Coincidences?
♥Last Sunday, Wei gave me a zodiac chocolate bar & a lucky pig phone dangle from Korea. Later in the week I unwrapped the chocolate & found that it was Aquarius... my star sign! (There's no indication at all on the wrapper, all random.)Then whilst I snapped shots of it & the phone dangle, she called! (I've blanked out her number just to be safe!)

♥I've been torn between passion and prospects career-wise for a long while now, but over the past week I finally made a decision to quit law. Then my dad made a sudden U-turn about his previous stance that I should "just finish your law degree, then you can do whatever you want" and was adamnant that I continue on to practice. Call me crazy, superstitious or approval-seeking, but I decided to head down to the well-known Goddess of Mercy Temple (Kuanyin Miao at Rochor) to ask my fortune (my first time!). After shaking the heavy container for several minutes, lot 75 dropped out. After confirming it was the true reading (there's these 2 red wooden pieces you throw, and only if they fall on opposite sides have you gotten the correct fortune stick), I went to pick up the little pink divination slip. It was a bad one, something along the lines of: "Carrying a fierce tiger up a steep mountain... drained of courage... retreat from the litter at first opportunity... nothing but hardship ahead." I'm not one to resign my fate to a bunch of sticks, but it reflected how I felt and it was exactly the sort of confirmation I was looking for. To add to the intrigue, a few days later my dad went to the temple, and his lot read something like: "A bird flying high in the skies does not know when it will be shot down... A medicine man plucking herbs in the hills does not know of the snakes awaiting in the grass to strike him... Mind your own business & let nature take its course." I guess the good thing about these poetic sounding fortunes is that it's really up to the recipient to interpret it as he sees fit. And so, with both Goddess Kuanyin & my dad's blessings, I'm now free to pursue a career of my choice! Anyone hiring??
