I saw two excellent plays this weekend, one in NYC and the other in Center City:
Finding Neverland was wonderfully heartwarming, and all of the actors, especially Matthew Morrison were damn impressive. The four Llewellyn Davies boys had a lovely camaraderie and rapport and the romance between their mom Sylvia and J.M. Barrie was rather sweet and very believable..
And whenever Mr. Barrie’s dog Porthos appeared on stage, everyone cheered, and I think the dog liked it too because he always got a treat :)
Sophocles’ Antigone as staged at the Wilma Theater was damn exhausting to watch and I’m sure it was twenty times harder to act out as well. Greek tragedies are just so emotionally draining because we’re watching these people destroy their lives and they can never change or fix their mistakes-DAMN!
