Family Member 1: Someone said that [random place in the States] is just like the Marina.
Family Member 2: Yeah, the Marina is just like [random place in the States]...just without the gays.

I think Nicky from Avenue Q said it bluntly and best:

A lot of people here think homosexuality is awful and terrible, but I'm of the opinion that the whole obsession with who's-sleeping-with-whom is what's "perverted" and "wrong." You, worry about you're own life. I'll worry about mine.
And yes, Mom. That goes for any future heterosexual partners I might have. I'm a big girl now. I can make my own decisions.
Now does anyone wonder why I've never really come out?
ETA: There are attempts to stop the Pride Parade. Okay, in Jerusalem I can understand, but Tel Aviv? Gay city? Come on...
