Munich, Fussen, Salzburg, Vienna, Prague, Berlin, Rothenburg, The Rhine Valley

I don't feel like writing anymore. I don't even feel like writing in my journal-journal anymore. I've been sketching more. We bought cheap water colors. I have painted about 1 and 3/4 pictures. We accidentally bought 2 sets of colored pencils which I don't use.

Since the Berner Oberland we've been...around.

Munich was alright. We went to Dachau concentration camp...on Easter. We ate a lot of Turkish food. We went to see Van Gogh, Gaugin, Cezanne, Seraut, Monet, Manet, and one Toulouse Lautrec (not my favorite piece of his.)Weeee did some other things too...I don't remember which is sad. I haven't been writing well in my journal. I'm far too impatient. Everything is going by so fast, I want to slow down and breathe but we can't. Time is too valuable now. We only have about 15 days left on our Eurail pass and there is still so much to see. I want to be able to stay and experience each city or town fully and I can't. I'm rushed but I'm still having fun and completely loving it. Fuck college, I'm not coming home. I have to come home. I want to keep traveling. You need money to travel, you need a job to get money, you need to go to college to get a good job. I'm going to come home and slip back into my shitty routine and start at grossmont and take classes I don't care about and waste away in front of technological things and listen to automated people. I can't back home and die.

After Munich we went to Fussen (a very tiny happy German town) and saw the Nusshcheswesisteeinnnsnsn castle which is what inspired Cinderella's castle....nostaligia. It had a waterfall behind it, with a bridge that some asains were scared of crossing. The Bavarian Alps hovered over it all.

Salzburg was after that. I really liked the Sound of Music whaen I was younger so I was very excited. Dane thinks I'm lame. I took a lot of movie shot pictures. That was until I heard all the Americans singing and skipping and then Dane was right and I felt like shit.

Vienna was massive and not as "cute" as Salzburg. It was overwhelmingly Baroque. We went to the huge palace and took the tour and layed in the grass on the hill over looking the gardens. I found a Bush Nicht Willkommen sign. Prague was next but the track was broken or something yada yada and we ended up stuck in Bratislava in EASTERN EUROPE where no one understood us and everyone hated us. I'm pretty sure they did. But we got to Prague which was very interesting and paid too much for a room in a hostel that we right in the middle of the old center. Everything there was cheap. I bought too much, and we went out for dinner twice because (I'm so fucking tired of sandwiches) it was cheap enough for us to do so. I discovered my new favorite artist.

Berlin is Justine's favorite and I really loved it too. We got there on a weekend (bad idea but we have no choice really) and I called all the pensions/hostels in our books and everything was full. We picked a random city to go to for the night and decided on Hamburg. We went to the platform to catch that train and discovered hamburg was a bad idea because it was way out of the way we wanted to head. We then picked Dresden which was closer but we wouldnt get there until 10 at night making it hard for us to get a place. So we waited for a train to Dresden, read a brochure, found a new place, called it, and got a really cheap room. The hotel was way out of town but Eurail was valid on the S-bahn. The hotel was completely Ikea'd. We saw way to many museums and It's all a blur. We packed Berlin into 2 days. I wanted to stay there much longer. We saw Nefertiti, the pergamon alter, pieces of the gate of Ishtar, and Check point Charlie with methods of escaping from east to west (Now I know what that postcard on Justine's binder of two old men kissing was all about.) Oh and painted remainders of the Berlin Wall (my favorite part.) We climbed the Reichstag dome on our last night.

We went to Rothenburg next which I haven't written about in my journal yet. A completely medeval town that hasn't changed much since then. We visited the criminal museum (which was really just a torture museum.)

Now we are in a town along the Rhine. We took the boat tour today and I'm completely castled out at this point. It is beautiful though.

Tomorrow we are leaving for Amsterdam. Sex and pot and hippies and tulips.

We still have:
Amsterdam
Brussels
Bruge
Paris
London
Dublin
and maybe back to southern France and Geneve to stay with Dane's mom's friend.
and then maybe New York city??
