oh, so when I was on the street today, a guy from HRC said,
"did you know it's still legal in 31 states to fire someone just for being gay?"
I totally didn't know that there was nothing protecting GLBT people in the language of the federal anti- discrimination laws. I had to look it up because I figured there must be some umbrella term or something in there, but there's not :O
But if a case of someone being fired because of their sexual orientation ever made it to the Supreme Court, that would probably be found unconstitutional, right? Like, shouldn't that be protected in the constitution? :/
I did learn that some states have laws against discrimination because of weight.
