My first motorcycle is called the Chicken Hawk. There are various reasons for this, among them the fact that my bike (a Honda CB-1) is often mistaken for a Honda Hawk, and because of... a lot of not so nice things (a really nasty story by a phenomenal usenet author from the early 90s springs to mind). So, a couple of years ago, a guy on my local motorcycle mailing list tried to gently explain to me why I probably didn't want to call my bike that, which cracked me up considerably. Yessir, I know what a chicken hawk is. Yessir, I know what a chicken hawk does. Yessir, I'm not the naif you think I am, and I *do* mean to call my bike that. ;) But thank you for your concern.
Fast forward to last week. My band came to me with a new tune that they wanted to cover, called The Chicken And The Hawk. They thought I wouldn't like it. Bwahahahahahahaha.
This weekend the Matthew Stubbs Band stays close to home so we can stuff ourselves silly. Our first feast will be Friday night, September 19th, when we go for the best chicken wings anywhere at the Chicken Bone Saloon in Framingham, Massachusetts. We'll also be featuring Sizzling Scott Shetler on the saxophone that evening. For more info and directions, check out:

Saturday night, September 20th, we continue eating ourselves into oblivion at Jake's Dixie Roadhouse in Waltham, Massachusetts. Jake & Earl's has some of the best barbecue in the Metro Boston area, so come down and help us abuse our digestive systems on Moody Street. You can browse Jake's menu and get more info at:
