Ok, so would everyone like to know what the hell happened to me? Here's the really fast version. In January, I went snow boarding with some of the alpha sigs. All fun and games. On the way home, I was throwing up a lot. Didn't really know what was wrong, thought it might be my blood sugars (diabetes) but got home (apartment in w. Lafayette) and went to sleep. Four days passed, I was somewhere between unconscious and throwing up. By the fourth day, called my mom to tell her I needed to go to the hospital because something was seriously wrong. She hung up on me. Called back, told me to go to PUSH and see what they said. Traci drove me to PUSH, where I was rushed to St. Elizabeth hospital in ambulance. They did a bunch of tests and I didn't have my cell phone to call home. Doctor called my house at 6pm that night telling my mom to get up there quick, I have a 10% chance that I'm not walking out of here alive. To break it down, I had mono, diabetes ketoacidosis, strep throat, abnormal liver function, thrush, this really weird rash, severe dehydration (not eating and throwing up), and some other minature things but those were the biggies. I was in the hospital for three days, and they sent me home after getting my vitals normal, could somewhat swallow, and had several IV antibiotics to fight the many infections raging through my body. Did I mention a bladder infection? and a swollen liver? My liver was so huge it was down into my pelvis. Yea... I know. So I had to medically withdrawl from Purdue, leave my apartment, and stay home for atleast 2 months to get over the mono. I couldn't walk. So I was locked up, started to get a little better in March. I went to Walmart (out in Public for the first time in AGES) and my heart rate started to increase rapidly. My 'sickness' doctor was across the street, so I stopped in to see what was up. He told me to go to the hospital. So back to St. Vincents I went. 10 hours later and $5,000 worth of tests, and couldn't find out what was wrong. My ER doc's exact words, "well, I hate to send you home with your vitals abnormal but I can't find anything wrong." So back home I went. For a week, same symptoms. So Mom took me to Hendricks Community Hospital. In 1 hour, I had a diagnosis and a cure. $159 later, I had scarlet fever and had to take horse pills. Yea, scarlet fever, like the shit you die from on Oregon Trail. So started taking antibiotics for it. They screwed my stomach up. So then I couldn't digest food. Next went to a doctor to find out why I couldn't eat food, a gastrologist. I had gastroparesis (your stomach is paralyzed). So I lived off of weight gainer shakes for 3 months. I was a pudgey girl, at my peak weight being somewhere around 165. I'm down to 107. Best diet I've ever been on, now I hope I can gain some back and look healthy. Healthy enough so when I look in the mirror I don't see my ribs. That would be nice. So now, I'm at IUPUI. I'm starting to join the living again. I work at the zoo in guest services. I also work at abercrombie and fitch as a brand rep. model. Yea, they like their girls skinny. But that's all for now, I'll start to go into great detail when I have the time to write about my inner thoughts again. (scary place, I know, but you enjoy it). Later gators
