Isaiah 33:2
O Lord, be gracious to us;
We long for you.
Be our strength every morning,
Our salvation in time of distress.
Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you;
Do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Jeremiah 33:3
Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unreachable things you do not know.
Philippians 2:1-4
If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the spirit , if any tenderness and compassion, then make joy complete by being like-minded. Having the same love, being one spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vein conceit, but in humility consider others better then your selves. Each of you should look not only to your own interest, but also the interest of others.
Wow. Seriously, serving God can be both a really encouraging thing and at times a punishment in it’s self.
God,
I’m sorry for being so selfish at times. Especially today. I know that I’m not perfect, but lord help me to become more and more like you. Change me into the person you want me to be. Help me to rely on you more then anything else. Be my strength.
