Sheesh, I almost forgot to do this. And it's a week ago now someone brought this up.
That Calliope, doing panels all over Arisia?
She is, in fact, not me. Yes, she's poly, and kinky, and has 'a June Cleaver-esque love of cooking from scratch' just like me ... but she is still not me!
'Still not King.' heh And you can't really tell by her bio that we're different entities. *g*
To disambiguate a bit: she's shorter and thinner than me, has incomprehensibly _straight_ and lighter hair, without curly bangs even, gah!, doesn't seem to love corsets like I do, and is from NY. NYC, as I recall.
Most of this subject to change, I suppose.
Which of us is the I.S.S. Enterprise Evil Spock, eh? Or Evil Willlow?! You be the judge. *g*
I mentioned this last year too:
http://kissoflife.livejournal.com/195895.html I was pretty thrown by it then. Now, eh, have seen her at a couple cons - and she seems to feel weird around me, or weird about being friendly. She actually initially drew me into a pissing contest about who has more precedent for it as a nickname-- I'm a good bit older than she is, so that would be me who 'wins.' *g* Her primary-ish partner is awesome and vivacious and kinda looks like Jonathan Coulton in a wheelchair, and she's, well, alright. She's a bit withdrawn sometimes, and may not love crowds as much as she loves panels. 6 panels!
My hunch is that she wants to establish herself as authority on a variety of subjects, and worries that I'll disrupt that process when it's closer to my home ground. Since I don't presently do panels and she's 'gotten there first,' I'd doubt this would happen. But neither am I going to change my natural inclinations, or ensmallen my presence at stuff I'm interested in. Our interests just happen to coincide. (*checks* yep, still feels weird)
It was pretty funky having someone I know well quip about what madness OUR panel will be with OUR cast of characters talking this weekend!(Poly 201, Saturday). And I even felt a bit pouty that it wasn't me scheduled to be in the fray. Maybe I'll pop by... I actually have the last two years, at which time she wasn't in it. It's the lure of communing with 'our peeps' that keeps us coming back.
'Hah, it isn't just a fandom, it's a lifestyle.' Such cries ring out all over the Con, of course.
In general, I, myself, will be flitting all over the place, especially Friday and Sunday. *curtsies* Hope we cross paths and get some hugs in this weekend, folks!
