Props Mistress!

May 29, 2005 09:24

It's nice to know that some people believe in my potential... About a week ago, I was made props mistress of the show... I didn't exactly do cartwheels across the stage like I'd promised I'd do if I got the job, but I did do pirouettes from stage right across to stage left... This show is incredible... I'm in charge of so many fabulous props (though those civil war tents and I are going to have words at some point, this I know) like muzzle loaders and double barrel shotguns, and six shooters, and it's GREAT. And that's just the hairy stuff from stage right. It's this rush knowing that I have to place everything exactly right in order to keep the actors from looking like idiots on stage with an invisible prop... And it's wonderful to know that someone believes in me enough to want me as props mistress. I don't get anything from Longwood. All I get from them is a look questioning my presence in their theatre. They can bite me. I love what I do, and if they won't give me the opportunities I ask for, than I will make my opportunities elsewhere, and kick butt at what I want to do anyways. This is my official giving of the bird to people who don't think I'm good enough. Y'all need to get your eyes checked, cuz you ain't seein' what the rest of the world has been aware of for some time.
