The Land of the Free

As the days pass by, I get more and more excited. It's only 4 more days until school ends, and my summer is full of fun, excitment, and memories. My parents recently sprung the news on me...that we're going to Canada for a week or two. I'm soooooo excited. There is a downside though. We are going more up north this time to see my dad's side of the family, and our little family cottage spot we used to go to. So that means I won't be seeing any of my friends where I used to live. Either way, I'm just happy to be going home.

The reason why we're going more up north is because my uncle bought land for us...and my parents are excited to check it out. We're also going to our old cottage type house because we miss it. My great uncle now lives in the cottage, but we will stay at a hotel. The place is unexplainable. The whole lifestyle is completely different. You have to get your water out of a spring. Everything is just more natural and beautiful. The neighborhoods are surrounded by mountains and trees. You take a little hike and pick baskets full of blueberries.

Our little neighborhood was full of kids we used to play with. My great Uncle is always telling me that they ask about my brother and I. Most of the kids either got someone pregnant or is pregnant. When you grow up, there's really nothing to do there anymore except do it with each other. I heard they look completely different from before. It's full of so many memories that I refuse to let go of. I'll be going at the beginning of July.

Even though that will be the highlight of my summer, I hope it'll be just as good spending time with my friends and family. I am hoping this will be the best one yet!
