9 days left to go at the Barbican, and I have finally hit the 'I don't care anymore' stage. Hurrah!
Generally I am feeling rather carefree now. Paul and I are as happy and loved up as ever, and we've found a nice little flat in a gorgeous location just a stone's throw from Uxbridge town centre. It's next to a canal in a little cottagey mewsy type road (called a Parade :-)), and it's all pretty and leafy (although my mumsy wisely pointed out that it's probably leafy because it's autumn. Ha ha.) It's not confirmed yet - we have to be tenant checked and Paul has to be credit checked, but fingers crossed it will all go well and we will get the keys on December 15th.
I am more than a little worried about money though, after the Barbican managed to spectacularly dock £1000 from my wages this month. Sadly, this isn't even a mistake and the reasons why are too boring and complicated to explain. I can't do anything about it, although I will get the money back in either December or January, so they say. It's funny how the concept of being frugal and trying to save money takes on a whole new meaning when you can't afford to pay your rent.
But on the whole, I'm feeling chipper. 9 days to go in this hell hole, a trip to Munich this weekend, a big night out with people I like to celebrate leaving next Friday, and some good things lined up for the week after: Billy Bragg and Eliza Carthy at the South Bank on Tuesday 27th, Bill Bailey at Wembley Arena on the 30th. Thankfully both are already paid for! All I need is to find some work to tide me over and I can relax.
Ooh and mmmm, Pret Crimble Crumbles :D
