So there's been this student who has been calling here and there about information in regards to the school and asking the usual set of questions. He's fairly polite on the phone and nothing special.
Until he came in yesterday.
His arrival is fairly standard as he walks in asking for Jenny. I answer and he looks very surprised. I mean the expression on his face was measurably surprised.
He starts asking questions, only this time he's very abrupt and sometimes just down right rude when it comes to asking questions and hearing answers he doesn't like. After about 10-15 min, my temper is fairly done and at some point during the interrogation I demanded: "What's with the attitude change?"
His response?
"Earlier I thought you were white."
I could've had all the electricity to my brain shut down that's what it seemed like when my brain smashed into a screeching halt.
"So now that you know I have PINK HAIR you can act like a jerk?" Obviously we didn't stay off line too long.
Him: "Is there someone else I could talk to?"
Me: "If you're asking if there's any WHITE staff that work here, the answer is 'no' because I am the only foreigner that works here."
Him: "Well, you're not really a foreigner. You don't really think you're American, do you?"
